Fresh Pixel Art Features Served Straight to your Inbox!
Issue 1 | Issue 2 | Issue 3
Welcome to another issue of fresh pixel art features! This feature includes a few brand new pixel artists and a few pieces from those you may already know and love. This time, instead of a single featured artist and many individual features after, I will be writing a little about each thing featured.
Is a piece that the artist worked very hard on, in order to improve basic pixelling practices such as dithering and hue shifting, as well as making great use of composition and animation.
Making excellent use of a difficult palette for the Pile O' Pumpkins Tribute Project", which even if you haven't entered yet, might be worth a look. It's great to see the variety in expression and colour that can be created with the one restricted palette.
An interesting use of isometric pixel art and clear water that I found eye-catching.

This artist has gone to the effort of re-pixelling one of their earlier pieces and the improvement shows, rep-ixelling an old piece can be a great way to get enthusiasm for progress that you might not be able to see you made without looking back.
Humorous, smooth shading and wonderful animation, something new from an old favourite.
An awesome piece of Pokemon fan art, the animation and circle frame combine to make this a really compelling and natural capture of a Pokemon in it's natural habitat.
An artist trying out pixel art for the first time, and already showing some exciting results, the rain animation and colour scheme overall is delightful.
A promising piece, with a lovely atmosphere and lighting.
Although not a part of the Pixel Art category directly, this is an incredibly ambitious pixel project, a game where all the details are taken care of and the interaction is engaging and relevant. Well worth a look if your a fan of the series or interactive pixel work.
A small piece with lots of heart, especially for furry animal lovers.

A lovely pixel rendition of a book cover.
A beautiful snowy landscape pixelled by the talented wishuponapixel.
A great response to the theme "Terror from the Deep", the composition is used to fully intensify the feeling of being lost in a vast, underwater space.
An interesting array of creative halloween costumes pixelled with great variety in pose and expression.
Adorable fan art from popular pixel artist ichigo-tan.
Super crisp and smooth MLP pixel fan art.

Brilliant animation and theme, for all those fans of Orcas.
I hope you've enjoyed this feature and if you find anything you want to suggest for the Pixel Art category, please send me a note and thumb of the work c: Please remember, that Icons are a part of their own category in Customisation, and that Emoticons are in Customisation also. Additionally, if the work uses a base, and is therefore a "Doll", it is also a part of Customisation. Even if a piece is incorrectly submitted to Pixel Art, the piece needs to be sent to the CV of the correct area, as I can only accept suggestions for pieces that fit in Pixel Art. Remember to bookmark this link: communityrelations.deviantart.… in order to easily locate an up to date list of who is CV for which area.
