It's not about if you can draw or can't
It's about how many times you've tried
Too many people I find have this almost violently determined idea that you are either someone who can or can't draw. You're either somehow ridiculously gifted the second you first set pencil/crayon to paper at the age of 2 or you'll never draw well in your life. Obviously this is completely unrealistic, no toddlers draw perfectly, and you know why? They've only been drawing for a couple of years. Somewhere along the line though, people get this idea that you 'start' drawing, I get asked, 'when did you start drawing?', but I think the better thing to ask is when did you stop? (I got that phrase from somewhere on here I think but apologies I can't remember who). Almost every toddler would have scribbled at home or in preschool of some description, the very fact you are capable of writing means you are capable of trying to draw. My point is no one ever reaches perfection, some have just drawn more times than others.
Please don't take this as some sort of attack against you, we all have bad art days (similar to bad hair days
) and art block etc, but it's not at all true to label anyone unable to draw forever more. Just challenge yourself to draw every day and I can guarantee you, you will make progress. You just won't make progress if you don't do anything. Like walking/talking/singing etc, you wouldn't be able to do them if you didn't even try, and you walk every day I found this true in the case of my dear boyfriend, who said to me, 'I can't draw at all' and I replied well I can teach you, to which he said "no I've tried, I just can't". Perplexed, I asked how many times? And he said "I don't know like 3 times...several, something like that, years ago" - Well I had to reply with what did you expect?
I said how many times do you think I've tried and failed? Tonnes more than three and I'm not even satisfied with my progress yet But he's lovely still 
I've been actively 'taking art lessons' (not drawing) for more than 7 years now, and if you look at my traditional section, it's almost empty. I don't think I've even scratched the surface of drawing enough yet It's basically a reworded version of what I tell people who go crazy at me demanding I tell them "hw u draw!?!? u must tll me" - I'm not keeping any secret word from you preventing you from drawing
