Edit// It's not a horse omg, how many times do I have to say this about my stuff? D: I don't see anything horse like about a cake or a bottle of water XD
For a pixelling activity at The Quilting Bee, I already did one but I wanted something better, so I've tried really hard to improve on things I'm not normally good at and I'm fairly ok with the outcome
Since I'm confident in dithering and texturing, it was the icing that was the biggest difficulty for me, so I tried a new way inspired by =firstfear and the way she makes wonderfully smooth shading for everything, and this is much improved over my usually crumbly looking icing
Also, the star was a challenge in pixelling something on an angle like that, again something I'm rather hopeless at and even after studying *angelishi's stars I think I've really struggled to show it on an angle properly. I spent ages tweaking it but I've had enough of trying to move each arm of the star and having the whole thing become entirely unrecognisable Hers is much more round and cutesy but I couldn't seem to handle something round and something on an angle at the same time
Oh and, my first time doing a drip animation too! I took inspiration from `stuck-in-suburbia's pixel fade out technique since I realised to make the loop smooth whilst also maintaining transparency, it was going to need to fade out differently than I usually do.
In fact, I think the thing I'm least satisfied with are the rainbow sprinkles, but it looked too bare without them, and mini mnms looked like squares at this size XD I also think it'd be nicer if I could add a 1px edge in white but we have to stay inside 40x40, so hard! But I think it's good for learning to make the most of each pixel too
it has to do with a horse by association. Also I'm not sure what it being pixelated has to do with anything. You know if a strange fandom started posting stuff on my pictures I'd be happy to have the attention and tell them to check out some of my other artwork, not tell them to shut up/shove off about it. Just sayin'.
implications are our greatest allies. Use them carefully. Also it could be made of chopped up horses pixels with normal cupcake pixels layered over top. You never can be too sure.
And also have all my OH GOD WHYs.
And it's a nice vector that makes me hungry just looking at it, even if the one drip on the right side upsets my inner OCD. That too.
