She's been great to talk to, to get advice from and to be inspired by, and the last time we effectively "came together" artwise was the pixel rainbow rose that became my most popular piece so far
I know people were hoping to see some more takes on her lovely rainbow roses and so I decided to tackle a full and just about 100% from scratch digital painting of one of the roses Please bare in mind I have minimal time and experience
The only parts that aren't painted by hand are the water colour brush stroke textures and the film grain at the bottom, which I'm sure people don't mind I feel incredibly proud of this piece as I did with the pixel one, so I'm thinking I've learned a lot through the making of this one
AND YES, since we always have to go through this discussion every time with these things They ARE real, it's a surprisingly simple method of the rose absorbing the coloured water up a split stem : P But not all rose species are capable of it to this extent. You can wiki the details
I've never seen a real one and probably won't unless they find a way to send flowers half way round the world without wilting and costing a fortune Or if someone knows of a place that sells them in South Australia??
