The accuracy of this instantly brought me back to my primary school days when Pokemon was new and in its prime and collecting e'm all was my top priority (yeah, screw schoolwork, I lived for pokemon cards )
I still have my set, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it, especially since I had all but 1 card I needed from the original three series of them. Took a long time and some hard trading but my wise habits paid off since by the time primary school was over for me I had one of the best collections (beaten only by this one foreign kid who got to go overseas a lot and always brought back new ones not even released locally yet, he had FOUR holographic Moltres's during a time everyone else at school didn't even think there was a card for that pokemon )
I was the same, had a mega collection, and really still do, haha can't let them go even though they are just everywhere XD... I used to go hunting all over the place for rare cards, went to a market once and managed to get some of those awesome japanese cards and promos And got one of those cool Pikachu sets where there's a card from different places in the world with things like surfing Pikachu and Birthday Pikachu etc,
I was collecting up until the ruby/sapphire stage, at which point I think I realised the obsession was a little out of control and I needed to stop But the first and second gen cards are my most favourite, as with the games
I had one of those ancient Mew cards too! I think you had to be the first to go to the pokemon movie in your local theatre, and you got the holographic moltres, articuno and zapdos if you were shortly after that
Lol, I remember searching for rare cards too. Much harder when you're 12 years old and have no internet, kids have it easier these days already I had the four movie promo cards that you got for seeing the first Pokemon movie (what an epic moment in my childhood that was ) You only got 1 of the 4 cards at random but I traded some I had duplicates of from the normal sets to get the other three Then I got that rare holographic Meowth card which came with one of the games (traded some foolish kid for it ) and a rare holographic Mew card I bought from the markets...only one kid in the whole school had a mew card and he was the envy of everyone...until I showed up one day with the same but in holographic I kept it in a special box and everything and still have it somewhere...cost me $15 from the market for the one card, which I was told was only available to those who did Pokemon tournaments in America
mmmmmm, oh man I still remember the rush of finding cards and being like OMG MUST HAVE haha Even now I get seriously tempted in my mind but I know I really can't keep up with how many they release these days
I never knew how to play the game though, just a really avid collector : P But I love playing the gameboy version, it's graphics are awful they are unique haha but now I'm older I can actually win in it

I think this looks amazing. You did a great job. Nice work.
You really went all out on the detail.
I think yours is way better than mine, by far!
