FAQ #18:Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen? If you have a look on my profile page (and those of other CVs) you will see guidelines on how to make a suggestion (such as what to include in your note and what we look for etc). I also have some extended guidelines which I recommend you read if you want to suggest for my category in particular, as a lot of people can send me things which don't fit the category and so on.
Yeah, you need to suggest a lot of art and not everything will be accepted, and you need to check things like how many favs it already has and how many and how recently any previous dds were given... a lot of people are quick to whinge that they put in things that don't get them when they haven't considered all those things XD
Mhm. XD I don't really mind when the things I suggest don't get picked, since I keep in mind things like that, and that there's SO much art floating around and getting suggested anyway. It's just not plausible or reasonable to think that my little thoughts would get full attention.
A lot of people suggest only 1-5 and get surprised that they aren't accepted, I would have sent hundreds by now and not had 50 accepted XD It's also a lot about the popularity of the piece and the person, you have to check that they haven't already had a DD in the last 3 months and they should ideally have less than 500 favs on the piece, although that rule varies depending on the individual CV you send too. Also making sure that you send them to right person is important too, so check on the community volunteers list; [link]
It's such a negative way to think of them, they can't possibly accept them all but at the same time you won't ever get any accepted if you don't even bother to send them in XD At the end of the day, it's about making someone else happy not doing something for yourself
I never do it for myself. I just got into a fight a long time ago with one of the people because they actually dissed my friends' fractal piece. And I about e-punched them in the face because they didn't even know what a fractal was (had said so themselves) but was still saying my friends' fractal was a piece of crap when it's the highest quality thing I'd ever seen at that point -_-;; I was a very steamed mango lol
steamed mango? Sorry that's just the funniest expression I've heard I know some of the things I've suggested for DDs get a lot of abuse when they are accepted, which makes me angry, they should complain to me or the CV, not those who get one, they don't even know until it's too late to change it
lols I use that a lot xD my nickname is Mango, so when I'm angry, I'm a steamed mango yeah. I don't see why people think they have to just completely tear down someone else's art. In my experiences, it's always the ones who are even worse than whoever they're tearing down. Once, I had a girl say that I wasn't a college student studying for photography and that I should just give up because of a stalk of bamboo in a photo of an alligator at the zoo... I went in the girl's gallery because she claimed herself a better photographer. I commented on one of her photos asking "how is this blurry photo of God doesn't even know what better than a piece of bamboo in mine?" and she stopped harassing me.
